Demons Win, 6-3, at Tampa Bay
|
The 6-3 Detroit win over Tampa Bay was due in large part to Carson Kelly. The Demons catcher went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Emerson Hancock got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The loss lowers the Tampa Bay record to 14-6.
Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Rhys Hoskins to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Demons ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Detroit manager Marc Buffington attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
