Sting Score Late to Upend PoorBoys, 6-3
|
Seattle parlayed a decent outing from starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto into a solid win over the Montreal PoorBoys. The final score was 6-3. In 7 innings, Yamamoto surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Josh Hader closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Seattle needed the clutch hitting of Kyle Teel to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sting on top, 5-3. For the game, Teel had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
