Titans Trip Vipers, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Houston Titans had to overcome a fine effort from Texas pitcher Chris Bassitt to win, 3-2, at New League Park. Bassitt went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The win brings the Titans to 16-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
The decisive blow was delivered by Brandon Nimmo in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Emmanuel Clase to win the game for Houston. The home crowd went nuts.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Nimmo said after the game.
