Dragons Absorb 8-5 Home Loss
|
Anaheim and San Francisco duked it out and the Diamonds came out victorious.
The Anaheim Diamonds handed the San Francisco Dragons a loss at Pac Bell Park. The final score was 8-5. Major production was provided by Willi Castro for Anaheim. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 4. He also added 1 walk. Jon Gray, the winner, is now 1-3. He struck out 4 and walked 2 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. Bryan Abreu, who is a two-time All-Star, earned the save for Anaheim.
With Anaheim leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Castro hit a cutter from Blake Walston for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Diamonds ahead, 6-1.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Castro.
The Diamonds, with only their 5th win in 23 games, have not had much to write home about in 2026.
