Roses Deal Millers 7-6 Loss
|
James Wood did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Minnesota Millers from being beaten, 7-6, to the Oakland Roses at Target Field. Wood went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Raisel Iglesias collected save number 10. The Roses, now 18-5, have been playing some good baseball.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Drake Baldwin came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Minnesota pitcher Cade Smith, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Oakland on top, 7-6.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Baldwin.
