Titans Throttled by Sting, 5-1
|
Seattle Sting starter Jose Soriano found his groove in his team's 5-1 win over the Houston Titans. The loss lowers the Houston record to 15-9.
Pete Alonso had a big run-scoring double for the Sting in the top of the third inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a splitter from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Logan Allen and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sting ahead, 2-0.
Seattle manager Jesus Cardiel commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
