Sluggers Send Texas Home with 4-2 Loss
|
The St Louis Sluggers got a marvelous performance from pitcher Jacob Lopez. The left-hander kept the Texas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 St Louis victory at Busch Stadium. The winning pitcher was Lopez, now 2-2. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 10. Picking up the save was Robert Garcia, his 3rd.
Jordan Walker, who is tied for 8th in the FL in extra base hits with 12, helped out the St Louis cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
After the game, St Louis manager John Hawkins applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Texas, at 6-18, is off to a poor start in 2026.
