Left-hander Trevor Rogers mesmerized the Washington Hitmen while leading the Anaheim Diamonds to a 2-0 victory. Rogers, now 1-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Despite the win, Anaheim, now 7-18, is off to a terrible start.

The Diamonds got a big at-bat from right fielder Leody Taveras. For the game, Taveras went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Anaheim a 1-0 lead.

Anaheim manager Michael Kirk called it "a good, solid win."
