Phoenix Gets 2-1 Win
|
Phoenix pitcher Ranger Suarez had a large part in his team subduing the Seattle Sting, 2-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. The winner was Suarez. He threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball. The loser was Ryne Nelson. The win puts Phoenix at 15-10.
Phoenix used the hitting of Fernando Tatis Jr. to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Firebirds on top, 2-0. For the game, Tatis Jr. had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Phoenix manager Pat McGoldrick called it "a good, solid win."
