In a low-scoring affair between the Pittsburgh Ironmen and the Carolina Riptides, pitcher Hunter Greene was the difference between victory and defeat. The Pittsburgh right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Ironmen win. The winner was Greene. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Tarik Skubal. David Robertson sewed up the save, his 7th.

Austin Hedges had a direct impact on the outcome. Hedges contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-1.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Greene said.

The loss puts Carolina at 16-10.
