Phalanx Fall Short, 5-4, at San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Dragons had to overcome a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Logan Gilbert to win, 5-4, at Pac Bell Park. Gilbert went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Earning his 9th save for San Francisco was Mason Miller. At 17-9, the Dragons have played well so far.
Ronald Acuna Jr. went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for San Francisco. The 2022 CBA Most Valuable Player winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off David Robertson. It was his 14th walk of the season.
"Good teams find a way to win close games," Acuna Jr. said.
