Cincinnati Stars starter Max Scherzer turned in an exceptional performance against the Texas Vipers at Pepsi Dome, resulting in a Cincinnati win, 4-2. In 6 innings, Scherzer surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Cincinnati is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 10th in 26 games.

Cincinnati won the game in part because of Garrett Mitchell. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-0. For the game, Mitchell had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

After the game, Cincinnati manager Pat Padula applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
