Boston Tacks 3-1 Loss on New York
|
The Boston Minutemen faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Sonny Gray, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fenway Park by a final score of 3-1. Gray went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The save went to Jose Alvarado, number 4 for him. The Sharks fall to 12-15 and continue their sputtering start to the 2026 season.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Jose Leclerc didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and New York trailing 2-1, Leclerc retired Gary Sanchez to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Leclerc, with a wink.
