Sharks Down Hitmen, 7-5

The New York Sharks downed the Washington Hitmen, 7-5, at RFK Stadium. The Sharks were led by Tommy Edman. Edman went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. New York reliever Will Warren picked up the win to move to 6-6. Ian Hamilton suffered the loss. Blake Treinen notched his 30th save in 36 chances.
Edman had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-1 changeup from Erik Miller, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Sharks a 7-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Edman.
In postgame remarks, Edman said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
With the win, New York has a record of 65-72. Washington falls to 65-72.
