The skies opened up and the rain fell at RFK Stadium.
New York first baseman Buddy Kennedy played a vital role in his team's 6-1 conquest of Washington. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for New York. Mitch Keller picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-7. He struck out 4 in 6 innings.
Early in the game, Kennedy had a 2-run home run for New York. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Sharks on top, 2-0.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Sharks manager Nick Ruport, "I like our chances."
The loss makes Washington 65-73.
