Titans Drop Sting, 2-1
|
The Houston Titans had to weather a strong performance from Seattle pitcher Julio Urias before claiming a 2-1 win in 16 innings. Urias went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. At 80-58, the Titans have a slim two-game lead in the Union League Central Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Derek Hill in the bottom of the 16th when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Graham Ashcraft to win the game for Houston. The home crowd went nuts.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Hill.
