Bandits Rally to Nose Past Carolina
|
The Bandits grabbed a win, 4-3, at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field, overcoming a fine effort from Carolina pitcher Tarik Skubal. Skubal went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Matt Strahm, credited with the save, is now 20 for 21 in save opportunities. The win gives Tampa Bay a season record of 88-53.
Aaron Judge, who is tied for 3rd in the FL in total bases with 292, helped out the Tampa Bay cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Bandits manager George Hoffman.
