Pittsburgh Beaten, 4-1, by Toronto
|
Toronto Hogs starter Ryan Feltner hurled his team past the Pittsburgh Ironmen, 4-1. George Soriano, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. Today's win puts Toronto at 69-73, while Pittsburgh falls to 66-76.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Sal Frelick to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hogs on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Ryan is a tough competitor," said Toronto manager Anthony Cepparulo.
