Sluggers Lose to Roses in Walk-Off
|
The Oakland Roses faced a tough opponent in St Louis pitcher Sandy Alcantara, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fan's Ballyard by a final score of 4-3. Alcantara went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs. With their winning streak at 4, the Roses have raced to a strong start this season.
Trevor Story was the walk-off hero for Oakland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Roses second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Story said his team "played with determination."
