Phalanx Rack Up 4-1 Win Versus Seattle
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Philadelphia and Seattle from playing their scheduled game.
The Philadelphia Phalanx defeated the Seattle Sting, 4-1, in Federal League action at Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia pitcher Jackson Rutledge had a standout performance. Philadelphia is now 68-75, while Seattle is 84-59.
Philadelphia took a 3-1 lead on Romy Gonzalez's 20th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Gonzalez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Seattle pitcher Justin Lawrence visibly frustrated.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Philadelphia manager Stephen Esterhazy.
