Bandits Suffer 5-2 Home Defeat
|
Toronto starter Kevin Gausman pitched well against the Tampa Bay Bandits at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Hoby Milner earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. Kenley Jansen got the save, his 26th in 30 chances.
Chas McCormick was 2 for 5 with 2 singles for Toronto. The 30-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off A.J. Minter. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Gausman.
Toronto has now won 5 in a row.
