The Toronto Hogs had to overcome a big game from Tampa Bay third baseman Austin Riley to leave Tony Gwynn Memorial Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 12-7. Riley went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Toronto reliever Jesse Chavez got the win, raising his record to 5-3. Ryan Pressly was tagged with the loss. Toronto is now 73-73, Tampa Bay 91-55.

Toronto used the hitting of Evan Carter to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hogs on top, 4-0. For the game, Carter had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"This team is headed in the right direction," said Carter.
