Nimmo Slugs 2 Home Runs, Titans Beat Stars, 5-4
|
Houston left fielder Brandon Nimmo was a significant contributor in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Cincinnati Stars. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Titans. Tomoyuki Sugano was the winner. He's now 11-5. The loser was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Tylor Megill. The Union League Central Division-leading Titans are 86-61.
With Houston leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Nimmo hit a slider from Tylor Megill for a 3-run home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Titans ahead, 4-0.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Cincinnati manager Pat Padula said, following the tough loss.
