Vipers Reel Off Another Win
The Texas Vipers topped the Baltimore Wildcats by a score of 9-7. Leading the way was right fielder Bryce Harper. Harper was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Vipers. The winning pitcher was Chris Bassitt. He tossed 99 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits. Texas has run its win streak to 6 consecutive.

Vidal Brujan had a big 2-run double for the Vipers in the top of the third inning. With Texas leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Zack Wheeler, who finished 3rd in the FL in strikeouts with 210 last year, and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vipers ahead, 6-1.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Texas manager Pete Seto.
