Los Angeles Upended by Boston, 8-3
|
The Boston Minutemen stopped the Los Angeles Spirit, 8-3, at Fenway Park. The Minutemen got a big game from Anthony Santander, who was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The winning pitcher was Hunter Brown. He's now 2-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Minutemen. The win puts Boston at 15-13.
Trevor Larnach had a big 2-run triple for the Minutemen in the bottom of the first inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from Charlie Morton, who finished 5th in the UL in wins with 14 last year, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Minutemen ahead, 3-0.
Larnach attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
