Firebirds Win at Baltimore, 5-2
|
Phoenix and Baltimore duked it out and the Firebirds came out victorious.
Phoenix Firebirds starter Alex Cobb was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Baltimore Wildcats, 5-2. Cobb yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 14-12.
Phoenix used the hitting of Freddie Freeman to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Firebirds on top, 2-0. For the game, Freeman had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Baltimore manager Joe Bubanj.
The Wildcats, now 66-83, have lost 5 straight.
