Millers 5-2 Winners Over Washington
|
The Minnesota Millers cut down the Washington Hitmen by the score of 5-2, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Michael Conforto. Conforto was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Millers. Zach Eflin, the winner, improved to 9-10. He held Washington to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Millers, at 84-65, have now won 4 straight.
Early in the game, Conforto had a 3-run home run for Minnesota. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Millers on top, 3-0.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Millers manager Pierre Duschesnau.
