The San Francisco Dragons picked up a win at Pac Bell Park, dropping the Toronto Hogs, 4-1. Framber Valdez, who is tied for 3rd in the FL in quality starts with 17, was the difference-maker. In 7 innings, Valdez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The first-place Dragons, at 90-59, lead the Federal League Western Division by 2½ games.

San Francisco shortstop Oneil Cruz contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 136th hit of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 3-1.
