Late Rally by Minutemen Secures 3-1 Win
|
The Boston Minutemen took Texas pitcher Jose Berrios's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pepsi Dome. The final score had Boston getting past the Vipers, 3-1. Berrios went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 7. The loss has the Vipers at 7-22.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Xander Bogaerts? The 33-year old shortstop Bogaerts stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Boston up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Bogaerts.
