Pittsburgh Beats Denver, 10-8
|
Led by Amed Rosario, the Pittsburgh Ironmen downed the Denver Bears, 10-8. Rosario was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Ironmen. The winning pitcher was Griffin Canning. His record now stands at 10-12. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits for the Ironmen. David Robertson notched his 33rd save in 36 chances.
With Pittsburgh leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Rosario hit a fastball from Kyle Gibson for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Ironmen ahead, 5-0.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Ironmen manager Ryan Morneau. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The setback makes Denver 70-80.
