The Minnesota Millers got a superb performance from pitcher Sandy Alcantara, but the Anaheim Diamonds still won the game, 7-3. Alcantara threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Anaheim is now 66-86. Minnesota is 84-68.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter George Springer came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Minnesota pitcher Andres Munoz, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Anaheim on top, 4-3.

Springer called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
