Demons Sneak Past Bandits, 4-3
Behind a fine performance from Austin Wells, the Detroit Demons knocked off the Tampa Bay Bandits, 4-3. Wells was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Demons. Cameron Weston earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Devin Williams earned his 35th save in 36 chances.

Wells had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 slider from Matt Strahm, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Demons a 4-3 lead. It was the 10th double of the year for Wells.

"Bottom line," said Tampa Bay skipper George Hoffman, "we didn't play well enough to win."

Detroit now sits at 76-77, while Tampa Bay falls to 101-52.
