Yastrzemski Stars in 8-6 Loss to San Diego
The San Diego Snakeyes withstood an impressive performance by Philadelphia right fielder Mike Yastrzemski to defeat the Phalanx, 8-6, at Petco Park. Yastrzemski went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Andrew Kittredge notched his 12th save in 15 chances. The Phalanx, at 73-82, have lost 4 straight games.

George Valera took Philadelphia hurler Bailey Falter deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 3-run home run put the Snakeyes on top, 6-4. In all, Valera had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
