Portland Makes Baltimore 5-2 Losers
|
Portland pitcher Chris Sale had a large part in his team beating the Baltimore Wildcats, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sale, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 11 and giving up 1 walk. The Wildcats drop to 10-19 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2026 season.
The Jaguars got a big at-bat from shortstop Trea Turner. For the game, Turner went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Portland a 1-0 lead.
"Chris attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Portland manager Darren Meserve.
