Explorers Deal Toronto 5-4 Defeat
The Chicago Explorers overcame a pretty good performance by Toronto first baseman Ryan O'Hearn, beating the Hogs, 5-4, at Baron's Ballyard. O'Hearn was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Cody Poteet picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-11. He struck out 4 in 5.1 innings. Chicago is now 78-79, while Toronto is 76-81.

Chicago catcher Ben Rortvedt contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 82nd hit of the season and put the Explorers ahead, 5-3.

Chicago manager Rock Carpenter praised his team's "energy."
