Phalanx Victorious at Carolina, 3-2
|
Though he had a stellar game, Juan Soto could not prevent his team, the Carolina Riptides, from losing, 3-2, to the Philadelphia Phalanx. Soto went 1 for 2 with 3 walks. The winner was Philadelphia reliever Jake Eder, now 2-0. The loser was Jordan Montgomery. After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 75-82; Carolina slips to 83-74.
Romy Gonzalez had a direct impact on the outcome. Gonzalez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.
"We busted our tails," said Carolina manager Rob Hansen. "But we came up short."
