Los Angeles got a terrific performance from pitcher Garrett Crochet, but it wasn't enough to beat the Washington Hitmen. Washington won the Nike Field contest, 4-1. Crochet threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win puts Washington at 79-79 this season.

Marcus Semien came through with a big-time hit for Washington. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Semien.
