Ironmen Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
The Pittsburgh Ironmen locked up a win at PNC Park, knocking off the Texas Vipers, 2-1. On the mound for Pittsburgh was left-hander Andrew Abbott. He played a major role in the triumph. Pittsburgh pitcher Ryne Stanek earned the win, hiking his record to 3-2. James McArthur suffered the loss. Pittsburgh is now 73-85, while Texas is 74-84.
Pittsburgh got a knockout punch from Jesse Winker. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Andrew was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Pittsburgh manager Ryan Morneau.
