Bandits Roll Past Sting, 6-2
|
Tampa Bay starter Shane McClanahan pitched well against the Seattle Sting at Boeing Field. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. In 5.1 innings, McClanahan surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Tampa Bay now has a record of 100-58 with the win.
Tampa Bay won the game in part because of Austin Riley. The third baseman ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bandits ahead, 6-2. For the game, Riley had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Shane was throwing strikes, locating well," said Tampa Bay manager George Hoffman.
