Spirit Deal Hitmen 5-1 Defeat
The Los Angeles Spirit picked up a win at RFK Stadium, knocking off the Washington Hitmen, 5-1. Starting pitcher Zac Gallen played a key role in the triumph. In 6.2 innings, Gallen surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Hitmen fall to 12-18 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2026 season.

It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Heriberto Hernandez, the 26-year old left fielder . Hernandez contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Los Angeles up, 3-0.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Hernandez.
