Riptides Get Past Baltimore for 5-4 Win
The Carolina Riptides faced a tough opponent in Baltimore pitcher Dean Kremer, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Toyota Field by a final score of 5-4. Kremer went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever Gabe Speier picked up the win. His record improves to 5-2. Drey Jameson took the loss. The Riptides lead the Union League Eastern Division by 10 games.

Brett Baty came through with a big-time hit for Carolina. The designated hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Baty.
