Bandits 3-1 Victors Over San Francisco
|
The home team gave the crowd at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field something to cheer about.
In a low-scoring contest between the Tampa Bay Bandits and the San Francisco Dragons, 28-year old left-handed pitcher Shane McClanahan proved to be the difference. The Tampa Bay left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Bandits win. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Ryan Pressly.
The Bandits got a big at-bat from center fielder Leody Taveras. For the game, Taveras went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay a 2-0 lead.
"Every loss stings," said San Francisco manager Joe Turnage. "This one is no exception."
The defeat makes San Francisco 18-12.
