Dragons Suffer 7-0 Road Loss
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the San Francisco Dragons and Houston Titans get after it.
The Houston Titans downed the San Francisco Dragons, 7-0, at New League Park. Stellar pitching by Aaron Nola had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the UL in innings pitched with 45.0, handcuffed his opponent all game. Nola yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-2. Andrew Morris was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Jordan Westburg, who is tied for 4th in the UL in home runs with 10, came through for Houston with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fourth. The third baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 4 RBI.
"Aaron's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Houston manager Stephen Strzepek.
The win gives Houston a record of 18-13.
