The Oakland Roses powered past the hometown Minnesota Millers, 7-2, in the opener of the Round 1 at Target Field. Oakland starting pitcher Spencer Strider threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Roses now lead the series 1-0.

Oswaldo Cabrera went 1 for 2 with a walk for Oakland. With one out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Cabrera had a clutch at-bat. Facing Minnesota hurler Dylan Lee, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Roses a 2-1 lead.

"I'm happy we won," said Strider. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Target Field in Minneapolis.
