Millers Take 2-1 Lead with 8-5 Win
Carolina left fielder Wilyer Abreu pounded Minnesota Millers pitchers at IBM Field, but it was not enough to keep the Riptides from falling, 8-5, in Game 3 of the CBA Division Series. Abreu was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, though he couldn't keep the Riptides from slipping to a 2-1 deficit in the best-of-5 series.

Minnesota used the timely hitting of Nick Ahmed to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Millers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Ahmed.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at IBM Field in Raleigh.
