Conforto Lifts Millers to 6-4 Triumph
|
The Minnesota Millers topped the Boston Minutemen, 6-4, at Fenway Park. Minnesota left fielder Michael Conforto was a spark plug for the offense. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Sandy Alcantara. His record now stands at 5-1. The right-hander went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits for the Millers. Jhoan Duran, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Early in the game, Conforto had a 2-run home run for Minnesota. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Millers on top, 2-0.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Conforto.
Boston is 17-14 after the defeat.
