Explorers Over Vipers, 5-1

The Chicago Explorers beat the Texas Vipers by a score of 5-1. Chicago right fielder Jesus Sanchez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Sanchez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs for the Explorers. Shota Imanaga got the win, improving to 3-2. He held the Vipers to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Shawn Armstrong closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
The Explorers got a big at-bat from third baseman Jace Jung. For the game, Jung went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Jung.
The Vipers, at 8-24, have stumbled out of the gate.
