Bleday Hits 2 home runs in Wildcats Win
|
With right fielder JJ Bleday leading the charge, the Baltimore Wildcats defeated the Oakland Roses, 9-7, at Fan's Ballyard. Bleday went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Javier Assad earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 1-2. The Wildcats improved their record to 12-21 with the win over Oakland.
With Baltimore leading 5-3 in the top of the fifth, Bleday hit a fastball from Angel Chivilli for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Wildcats ahead, 9-3.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bleday told a Baltimore News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
