The Montreal PoorBoys had to overcome a fine effort from Tampa Bay pitcher Jacob Degrom to win, 5-3, at Tony Gwynn Memorial Field. Degrom went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The win went to Edwin Uceta in relief, making him now 4-0. Joe Jimenez took the loss for Tampa Bay. With the win, Montreal upped its record to 17-16.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Zach Dezenzo to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the PoorBoys on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the Montreal Times, Dezenzo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
