5 Straight Wins for Sting
|
The Seattle Sting eked out a 2-1 win versus the Philadelphia Phalanx at Boeing Field. Nobody did more than designated hitter Shohei Ohtani. He was terrific. Earning his 6th save of the year was Josh Hader. The triumph puts Seattle at 18-17 for the season.
Corbin Carroll had a big solo home run for the Sting in the bottom of the third inning. With Seattle leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Logan Allen and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Sting on top, 2-0.
"Winning is great," Carroll said. "It's always just guys picking each other up -- if not me, then the next guy."
